We are open for volunteers from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon on Saturdays and also on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30pm until dark. We hope you will consider joining us. There is no need to sign up if you are an individual or a single family. However, if you plan on bringing a group please let us know in advance so that we may better prepare a meaningful experience for you.
We Have the Tools and Gloves!
The BELL has plenty of tools and gloves to share with our volunteers but we do not have drinking water on site so please make sure to bring your own. At this time of year the Garden can be extremely muddy so make sure to wear weather appropriate clothes and shoes – it is surprising how many people show up to work in the garden wearing flip-flops!
Get ready to meet some new friends, catch up with old friends, have fun and learn something about gardening and chickening!
“It was a great day spent with my kids, feels good to reach out and help where help is needed, a good lesson for my kids. Everyone at BELL Garden was very nice and appreciated us being there. Can’t wait to volunteer again soon.”
“The coordinator, Nancy, was great. She made sure we had the right tools and understood the scope of our task and its part in the larger picture of what the garden was about. The project she had our small group do (weeding around 4 newly planted blueberry bushes) was perfect to earn us a sense of completion.”
